“A beautiful lawn doesn’t happen by itself.” I know you’ve heard it before but it’s definitely worth repeating. One of the benefits of living in this paradise we call Southwest Florida is having a beautiful lawn outside your home all year-long! Now what most people don’t realize is what it takes to create and keep a beautiful lawn and it’s not as complicated or difficult as some may say it is.
Lenny’s Pest Control has been helping homeowners enjoy a year-long beautiful lawn for years and we know exactly how to get the job done right the first time. Our lawn care specialist will take the time to inspect your lawn and identify the current problems. We always take time to answer all your questions and educate you about what needs to be done for your lawn. Our lawn care program includes Weed Control, Fertilization and Turf Insect Control. We have a special going on this Spring – our initial lawn care service is only $29.95 and it covers up to 6000 sq. ft. with annual agreement – for new customers only.
INSECT CONTROL – If your turf looks damaged, wilted, and water-starved, than in insect may be involved. Some insect species feed on the roots and actually detach the blades from the roots and some suck the grass blades. This can cause great damage that turns your turf brown. Here’s a list of insect you might have living in your lawn now: ants, chinch bugs, fire ants, grubs, chiggers, ticks, cutworms, sod webworms, greenbug and billbugs are just a few. Our Turf Insect Control treatment can help you have a healthier, greener lawn quicker than you think!
FERTILIZATION – Providing sufficient nutrients, or fertilizer, is a key component of any beautiful and healthy lawn in southwest Florida. Aside from enjoying the nice view outside your window, a healthy lawn helps cool the environment and improve air quality! With an extensive knowledge of fertilizing methods and an experienced and expert landscaping team dedicated to you lawn’s health, Lenny’s Pest Control has the tools to rejuvenate even the most dilapidated and dry lawns.
WEED CONTROL – The last thing your lawn needs is a bunch of weeds crowding out your grass. Weeds detract from the beauty of lawns due to the contrast in color and texture between the desired grass plants and the weeds. In addition, weeds compete with the desired grass plants for available water and nutrients, usually resulting in thinning of desirable plant cover. Don’t let weeds keep you from enjoying your lawn, call the experts at Lenny’s Pest Control for quick, quality lawn care.
LAWN TIPS – To decrease bug and disease pressures, mow at the proper height and don’t overwater your lawn. Taller grass has deeper, stronger roots. A short mowing height stresses out grass, and over-fertilization causes it to grow faster than grass clippings can break down.
This results in a layer of thatch and creates hiding places for detrimental insects. Thatch blocks water traveling to the roots, requiring increased irrigation. In turn, damp conditions create disease or fungus pressure, which requires spraying with a fungicide that eliminates all fungus, including the beneficial fungi that protect grass. The cycle continues if unchecked. The best way to have a beautiful lawn is to call an expert and them get you on a plan to a healthier, greener lawn!
